Plays by Stephen Adly Guirgis, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, and More Set for Asolo Rep Season

The Florida theater has announced its lineup.

Asolo Repertory Theatre and the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training have announced their 2017-18 seasons in the Mertz Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts.

The Asolo Rep season kicks off with a touring production of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, September 26-November 19.

The winter will also see Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Evita, directed and choreographed by Josh Rhodes (November 15-December 30); Lee Hall's Shakespeare in Love directed by Rachel Rockwell (January 10-March 28); Carey Crim's The Morning After Grace directed by Peter Amster (January 17-March 4); Lisa Loomer's Roe directed by Lavinia Jadhwani (March 14-April 14), and Eugene Ionesco's Rhinocerus directed by Frank Galati (February 7-April 14).

Branden Jacobs-Jenkins' Gloria will run April 4-29 under the direction of Greg Leaming, with Peter Rothstein's production of direct the Lynn Ahrens, Stephen Flaherty, Terrence McNally musical Ragtime to follow, May 1-27. It is presented with Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre.

The 2017-18 FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training season includes Oedipus directed by Greg Leaming (October 31-November 19), Stephen Adly Guirgis' The Motherf**ker With the Hat (January 20-21), Jean Anouilh's The Rehearsal (February 20-March 11), and Much Ado About Nothing (April 17-May 6).
