Hannah Cabell and Stephen Barker Turner will join the previously announced Tony and Emmy Award winner Mandy Patinkin in Rinne Groff’s Compulsion at Yale Repertory Theatre, to run January 29 – February 28. Oskar Eustis, artistic director of the Public Theater, will direct the play, which is being co-produced by Yale Rep, the Public and Berkeley Repertory Theatre.

The play centers on Sid Silver (Patinkin), a man obsessed with the diary of Anne Frank. The character is inspired by Meyer Levin, the journalist and screenwriter who helped publicize the existence of the diary, and who came to believe that the chance to adapt it for the stage had been stolen from him.

Emily DeCola, Liam Hurley, and Eric Wright will be the puppeteers for the production. The creative team will feature Eugene Lee (sets), Lisa Loen (costumes), Marie Yokoyama (lighting), Darron West (sound), and Matt Acheson (puppets).
