The Minutes Makes Its World Premiere at Steppenwolf Theatre
Steppenwolf Theatre recently began previews for the world premiere of The Minutes by ensemble member and Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Tracy Letts. Steppenwolf artistic director Anna D. Shapiro directs the production, set to open on November 19. The show runs through December 31.
The cast of this new political comedy includes ensemble members Kevin Anderson, James Vincent Meredith, Sally Murphy, William Petersen, Francis Guinan, and Ian Barford. Also featured in the cast are Brittany Burch, Cliff Chamberlain, and Penny Slusher.
The Minutes, which will debut on Broadway in spring 2018, marks the fifth collaboration between Anna D. Shapiro and Tracy Letts and the seventh work by Letts to premiere at Steppenwolf. The play is described in a press release as "a scathing new comedy about small-town politics and real-world power that exposes the ugliness behind some of our most closely held American narratives while asking each of us what we would do to keep from becoming history's losers."
