Steppenwolf to Honor August: Osage County Film Actresses Juliette Lewis, Margo Martindale, and Julianne Nicholson
Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Tracy Letts will lead the Chicago theater in honoring the actresses.
Tracy Letts, Steppenwolf Theatre Company's Tony Award-winning actor (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf) and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright (August: Osage County), will host the fifth annual Steppenwolf Salutes Women in the Arts fundraising luncheon on Monday, December 9. This year's event will honor the work of Academy Award nominee Juliette Lewis, Tony nominee Margo Martindale, and Julianne Nicholson, three of the actresses featured in the upcoming film adaptation of August: Osage County, which stars Academy Award winners Meryl Streep as Violet Weston and Julia Roberts as her daughter Barbara.
The luncheon will include a behind-the-scenes look at the film as well as a conversation with Lewis, Martindale, and Nicholson that will be moderated by Letts in an Inside the Actors Studio format. Previous honorees at Steppenwolf Salutes Women in the Arts have included ensemble members Joan Allen and Martha Plimpton, Julianna Margulies, and Mary-Louise Parker.
