Rebecca Parris, Paula West Concerts to Pay Tribute to Lena Horne

Jazz singers Rebecca Parris and Paula West will help celebrate the paperback release of James Gavin’s Stormy Weather: The Life of Lena Horne and the launch the new Verve CD, Lena Horne Sings: The M-G-M Singles Collection with a trio of engagements in late April and early May. The events will feature musical direction and accompaniment by Geroge Mesterhazy.

The concerts will be offered at Scullers Jazz Club in Allston, MA on April 24 at 8pm and 10pm; the Camden Opera House in Camden, ME on April 25 at 4pm; and Blues Alley in Washington D.C. on May 5 at 8pm and 10pm. In addition to the vocals from Parris and West, the performances will feature narration by Gavin, combining to pay tribute to Horne’s work and legacy.
