Actor and musician Mos Def will perform as part of The Beach at Governors Island concert series at 8pm on Saturday, September 12.

He starred on stage in Topdog/Underdog and his film and television credits include Be Kind Rewind, 16 Blocks, Something the Lord Made, and Lackawanna Blues.

Other artists who are taking part in the series, which begins in mid-July, include Erykah Badu (August 4), the B-52s (August 18), and Buckethead (September 26).
