Black Watch, Directed by John Tiffany, to Return to Shakespeare Theatre Company

By Emma Cohen • Aug 9, 2012 • Washington, DC

Gregory Burke's Black Watch returns to the Shakespeare Theatre Company after a sold out run in 2011. The show, which depicts war from the perspective of soldiers in Iraq, will be on stage from September 19-October 7 at the Sidney Harman Hall in Washington D.C.

Viewed through the eyes of those on the ground, Black Watch reveals what it means to be part of the legendary Scottish regiment, what it means to be part of the war on terror, and what it means to make the journey home again. Black Watch is recommended for ages 13 and up.

This production is under the direction of Tony Award-winner John Tiffany. Creative team also includes movement director Steven Hoggett, musical director Davey Anderson, set designer Laura Hopkins, costume designer Jessica Brettle, lighting designer Colin Grenfell, sound designer Gareth Fry, and video designers Leo Warner and Mark Grimmer.
