Artistic Director of the Shakespeare Theatre Company Michael Kahn has announced five productions scheduled for the company's 2013-2014 season, with a sixth production to be determined at a later date.

Two Shakespeare comedies will open the season, beginning with a production of Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Jenny Lord, with performances scheduled to run from August 20-September 1. This will be followed by Measure for Measure, set to run from September 12-October 27 with Jonathan Munby directing. The third production scheduled for the season is the Oscar Wilde comedy, The Importance of Being Earnest, directed by Keith Baxter, set to run from November 21-December 29. Next on the roster is Henry IV, Parts 1 and 2, which will serve as a continuation of the Clarice Smith Repertory Series and thus far, is the only drama slated for the STC's 2013-2014 season. It will be directed by Michael Kahn and is scheduled to run from March 25-June 8 2014. The final production Kahn has announced is the Noël Coward 1930 comedy of manners, Private Lives, which is scheduled to run from May 29-July 13 under the direction of Broadway veteran Maria Aitken (The 39 Steps).

Managing Director Chris Jennings helms the Shakespeare Theatre Company alongside Artistic Director Kahn. Under their leadership, the STC's innovative approach to Shakespeare and other classic playwrights earned it the 2012 Regional Theatre Tony Award.
