PHOTO FLASH: Donna McKechnie Visits National Tour of A Chorus Line

Donna McKechnie, who won a Tony Award for her originating the role of Cassie in A Chorus Line, attended a performance of the current national tour of that musical, in South Bend, Indiana on Saturday, November 6.

McKechnie was in South Bend for the weekend, performing her solo show My Musical Comedy Life.

Conceived and originally choreographed and directed by Michael Bennett, A Chorus Line features a book by James Kirkwood and Nicholas Dante, music by Marvin Hamlisch and lyrics by Edward Kleban. For this new touring production, Baayork Lee has directed and re-staged the choreography.

The show tells the story of 17 dancers competing for 8 coveted spots in the chorus of a Broadway musical. Through the audition they bare their souls while sharing stories of their childhood, ambitions, fears, and experiences in show business.
