Legally Blonde Replaces Priscilla in Toronto Season

The Canadian premiere of Legally Blonde the Musical will take the place of Priscilla Queen of the Desert the Musical in the 2009-2010 Mirvish Theatre Subscription Season in Toronto. Blonde will play July 6 – August 8, 2010 at the Canon Theatre, the slot previously reserved for Priscilla. It’s expected that this hit London show will bow in Toronto during 2010-11.

In addition to this scheduling change, dates and theaters have been announced for three shows in the Mirvish season. Andrew Lloyd Webber’sThe Boys in the Photograph will play September 22 – November 1 at the Royal Alexandra Theatre. David Hare’s Stuff Happens will also play the Royal Alexandra Theatre, running November 14 – December 23. Finally, Topol will appear in Fiddler on the Roof at the Canon Theatre, December 8 – January 10. Dates and theaters for other productions in the subscription season, such as Little House on the Prairie and Young Frankenstein, will be announced at a later date.

Four off-subscription series shows have also been announced. Stomp (October 20-25), Rent: The Broadway Tour (January 19-24), featuring original cast members Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp and Gwen Stewart, Grease with American Idol Taylor Hicks (April 7-18) and Mamma Mia! (April 27 – June 27).
