Kim Cattrall, Robin Duke, Carrie Fisher, Robert Lepage et al. Set for Mirvish Productions’ 2011-2012 Season

Kim Cattrall, best known for her work in the television and film versions of Sex and the City, will star as Amanda in a Toronto production of Noel Coward’s Private Lives, to be presented by Mirvish Productions in the Royal Alexandra Theatre, September – October 2011.

The production is based upon the hit 2010 London staging, directed by Richard Eyre, that also starred Cattrall. No additional casting has been announced, but the poster for the production proclaims that the Toronto engagement is “Prior to Broadway.”

Additional productions to be presented by Mirvish in 2011 include Good Mourning Mrs. Brown (Princess of Wales Theatre, beginning March 8), starring Brendan O’Carroll; Ghost Stories (Panasonic Theatre, beginning April 1), written by Jeremy Dyson and Andy Nyman; Calendar Girls (Royal Alexandra Theatre, April 15-May 28), directed by Marti Maraden, starring Fiona Reid and Sheila McCarthy; Disney’s The Lion King (Princess of Wales Theatre, April 19-June 12); The Railway Children (Roundhouse Theatre, beginning May 2011); Women Fully Clothed (Royal Alexandra Theatre, June 14-19), starring Robin Duke, Jayne Eastwood, Kathryn Greenwood, and Teresa Pavlinek; Carrie Fisher in Wishful Drinking (Royal Alexandra Theatre, July 12-August 21); Ted Dykstra and Richard Greenblatt in Two Pianos, Four Hands (Panasonic Theatre, October 29-November 20); Chess the Musical (Princess of Wales Theatre, September-October), directed by Craig Revel Horwood; and the musical Mary Poppins (Princess of Wales Theatre, November-December.

In 2012, Mirvish will present The Blue Dragon (Royal Alexandra Theatre, January-February), directed by Robert Lepage; War Horse (Princess of Wales Theatre, beginning February); and the Diane Paulus-directed production of the musical Hair (Royal Alexandra Theatre, March-April).
