Barbour, Wyman, et al. Cast in A Tale of Two Cities

Full casting has been announced for the musical adaptation of A Tale of Two Cities, which will play the Asolo Repertory Theatre in Sarasota, FL from October 13-November 18. The run is being considered a pre-Broadway tryout, although no Broadway dates have yet been announced.

Set against the epic backdrop of the French Revolution and based on the classic Charles Dickens novel, the musical is about injustice, vengeance and the redemptive power of love. It will feature a book, music, and lyrics by Jill Santoriello, and will be directed by Michael Donald Edwards.

The principal cast will include James Barbour (Sydney Carton), Jessica Rush (Lucie Manette), Derek Keeling (Charles Darnay), Natalie Toro (Madame Defarge), Joe Cassidy (Ernest Defarge), Michael Hayward-Jones (Jarvis Lorry), Craig Bennett (Jerry Cruncher), Nick Wyman (John Barsad), Katherine McGrath (Miss Pross), and Alex Satoriello (Dr. Manette).

In addition, the musical will also feature Kevin Greene, Tim Hartman, Jodie Langel, Jay Lusteck, Les Minski, Walter O’Neil, Rob Richardson, Rebecca Robbins, Wayne Schroder, and Janine DiVita.

The creative team will include Warren Carlyle (choreography), Tony Walton (scenery), David Zinn (costumes), Richard Pilbrow (lights), Carl Casella and Domonic Sack (sound), Wendy Bobbitt Cavett (musical supervision), Jerry Steichen (musical direction), and Edward B. Kessel and Bob Krogstad (orchestrations).
