South Florida Theatre Festival to Kick Off March 10

The third annual South Florida Theatre Festival — which will feature 24 productions in Monroe, Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties, discounted tickets at select venues, three complimentary “forums,” play readings, and lavish parties — will take place from March 10 to May 12.


Participating theaters include Actors Community Theatre of Davie, Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre, Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Broward Stage Door Theatre, Caldwell Theatre Company, Cullio Centre for the Performing Arts, Delray Beach Playhouse, Fantasy Theatre Factory, Florida Atlantic University, Florida Stage, Fort Lauderdale Children’s Theatre, GableStage, M Ensemble, MadCat Theatre Company, Maltz Jupiter Theatre, Miami Children’s Theatre, Mosaic Theatre, The Naked Stage, New Theatre, The New Vista Theatre Company, Palm Beach Dramaworks, The Playground Theatre, The Promethean Theatre, Rising Action Theatre, Rude Mechanical Productions, Shakespeare Miami, Showtime Family Theatre, Tamarac Theatre of Performing Arts, The Theatre Institute of South Florida, University of Miami, Waterfront Playhouse, and The Women’s Theatre Project.


The festival will kick off with a members-only party on Monday, March 10 at Jetset, a private club in downtown Fort Lauderdale. At the closing party on May 12, several awards for excellence will be presented including the League’s Lifetime Achievement Award, the REMY Award for service to the League, an overall prize awarded by TheaterMania for the outstanding Festival production, and the Silver Palm Awards — a new set of citations based on excellence given by TLSF to members for outstanding achievement during the Festival and for specific Festival activities, as sponsored by the 55 venues.
