Kendra Kassebaum, Matt Owen to Star in Elf at Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre

The 5th Avenue Theatre has announced casting for its upcoming production of the popular holiday musical Elf, running November 30-December 31. Eric Ankrim will direct the show, which will feature choreography by Denis Jones.

The musical, which is based on the film of the same name, tells the story of Buddy, a human raised by elves at the North Pole, who sets of for the Big City to find his real dad.

Matt Owen will lead the cast in the role of Buddy, alongside Broadway veteran Kendra Kassebaum as his love interest, Jovie.

The cast will also feature Kim Huber, Seán G. Griffin, Allen Fitzpatrick, Cynthia Jones, Nick DeSantis, Jessica Skerritt, Blaine Boyd, Gabe Corey, Taryn Darr, Sarah Rose Davis, Christian Duhamel, Richard Gray, Charlie Johnson, Nikki Long, Greg McCormick Allen, Trina Mills, Corinna Lapid Munter, Brandon O’Neill, Katherine Strohmaier, Carolyn Willems Van Dijk, Kirsten deLohr Helland, Jack Fleischmann, Victoria Alkin, and Emily Brooks.

The design team includes Matthew Smucker (set design), David C. Woolard (costume design), Mary Pyanowski (hair and makeup design), Tom Sturge (lighting design), and Tony Smolenski IV (sound design).
