Liz Callaway, Tectonic’s The Laramie Residency, and More Part of Friend Center for the Arts’ 2010-2011 Season

The Friend Center for the Arts at the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco has announced programming for its 2010-2011 season.

The Tectonic Theater Project’s The Laramie Residency, examining the aftermath of the murder of gay college student Matthew Shepard consists of The Laramie Project, to be presented on Friday, October 22 at 8pm, with The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later, An Epilogue set for Saturday, October 23 at 8pm.

Tony Award nominee Liz Callaway will present In Good Company – Liz Callaway Sings Sondheim on Saturday, November 13 at 8pm. Her show is filled with stories and includes selections from Company, Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, A Little Night Music, and more.

Theater-related highlights also include the 35th annual San Francisco Comedy Competition (September 28); a staged reading of the Work of Lydia Davis (November 1); The Great Broadway Sing-Along (December 8); The Jewish Theatre San Francisco’s production of Lost in Yonkers (January 8-16); San Francisco Circus Center’s New Pickle Circus (January 22-23);‘S Wonderful: The New Gershwin Musical Revue (January 29 and 30); The Magic Theatre’s The Virgin Play Series (March 7-28); The Capitol Steps (March 13), and Seussical the Musical (May 7).
