Cutting Ball Theater Announces 2009-2010 Season

Cutting Ball Theater has announced their 2009-2010 season, with four staged productions and six new installments of their Hidden Classics Reading Series.

The season will open in October with The Bald Soprano, October 23-November 22, a new translation of Eugene Ionesco’s absurdist work by Rob Melrose, who will also direct this production. The new year will see …And Jesus Moonwalks the Mississippi, March 12-April 11, a new play by Marcus Gardley with direction by Amy Muller; and Eugenie Chan’s Bone to Pick & Daidem will return May 21-June 20, a re-telling the myth of Ariadne, directed by Melrose.

The Hidden Classics Reading Series will feature readings of Aristophanes’ The Knights (September 27), Shakespeare’s Troilus and Cressida (November 8), the Greek and Roman versions of Medea in Medea Vs. Medea (January 31), Women Beware Women (February 7), August Strindberg’s Storm (April 25) from the Chamber Plays, and Carlo Goldoni’s The Antiquarian’s Family (May 20).
