Dracula, She Loves Me, Blues in the Night et al. Set for Center REPertory’s 2010-2011 Season

Center REPertory Company, in Walnut Creek, California, has announced its 2010-2011 season, which will run September 2-June 25. The season will includes eight productions to be performed in all three theatres of the Lesher Center for the Arts.

The season will begin with the Joe Masteroff-Jery Bock-Sheldon Harnick musical She Loves Me (September 2-October 10), to be directed and choreographed by
Robert Barry Fleming. Next up will be Dracula (October 22-November 20), adapted from the Bram Stoker novel by John Balderston and Hamilton Deane, and directed by Michael Butler.

Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol (December 9-19) will be seen during the winter holidays, directed by Scott Denison in an adaptation by Cynthia Caywood and Richard L. James. The new year will bring Marc Camoletti’s comedy Boeing-Boeing (January 27-February 26), adapted by Beverley Cross.

Next up will be To Kill a Mockingbird (March 31-April 30), adapted by Christopher Sergel from the Harper Lee classic, and directed by Michael Butler. The season will conclude with the musical Blues in the Night (May 19-June 25), conceived by Sheldon Epps and featuring the songs of Duke Ellington, Johnny Mercer, Bessie Smith and more. Robert Barry Fleming will direct and choreograph.

Center Rep’s 2011 Off Center season will start with the West Coast premiere of Becoming Britney (October 28-November 14), featuring book, music, and lyrics by Molly Bell and Daya Curley, choreography by Mandy Bell, Lisa Navarro and Molly Bell, and direction by Daya Curley. Off Center will also feature David Rambo’s The Lady With All the Answers (April 28-May 15), directed by Scott Denison and starring Kerri Shawn as Ann Landers.
