Legally Blonde to Play Pittsburgh CLO in Summer 2009

The national tour of the seven-time Tony nominee Legally Blonde The Musical will headline Pittsburgh CLO’s 2009 Summer Season at the Benedum Center, June 9-14.

Based on the film of the same name, Legally Blonde is about Elle Woods, a determined if seemingly ditzy college student who decides to become the first member of her sorority to attend Harvard Law School. The musical features music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin, with a book by Heather Hach. As on Broadway, Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell will serve as the director and choreographer.

As previously reported, the national tour of Legally Blonde will kick off at The Providence Performing Arts Center in Rhode Island, September 23-28. It stars Becky Gulsvig as Elle, and contestants on the Legally Blonde The Musical: The Search for Elle Woods reality show, Rhiannon Hansen and Lauren Zakrin, are also cast in the national tour.
