As the S.S. American heads out to sea, two unlikely pairs set off on the course to true love proving that sometimes destiny needs a little help from a crew of singing sailors, an exotic disguise and some good old-fashioned blackmail. Peppering this hilariously bumpy ride are some of musical theater's most memorable standards, including "I Get A Kick out of You," "It's De-lovely" and of course, "Anything Goes."
Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story tells the story of the three years in which Buddy Holly became the world's top recording artist. The show features over 20 of Buddy Holly's greatest hits including "Peggy Sue," "That'll Be The Day," "Oh Boy," "Not Fade Away," "Everyday," "Rave On," "Maybe Baby," "Raining In My Heart," Ritchie Valens' "La Bamba," and the Big Bopper's "Chantilly Lace."
Over 20 million people have come to see Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story all across the globe where the magical talents of Charles Hardin "Buddy Holly" have been shared live with many more people than the real Buddy Holly ever had the chance to perform to.
The incredible legacy of the young man with glasses, whose musical career spanned an all-too-brief period during the golden days of rock 'n' roll, continues to live on in Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story.
Alex More has a unique story to tell. After being fired unceremoniously by Disney, the young, gay out of work actor lands perhaps one of the oddest jobs of all - manning a private mall in the basement of one of his megastar idols.
It's an outrageous comedy about the price of fame, the cost of things, and the oddest of odd jobs.
Disney's Beauty and the Beast is the story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped in a spell placed by an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity. This classic musical love story is filled with unforgettable characters, lavish sets and costumes, and dazzling production numbers including "Be Our Guest" and the beloved title song.
Elf: The Musical begins at Santa's North Pole workshop when one of the elves, Buddy, learns that he is not actually an elf; he's human! When Santa tells Buddy the whereabouts of his birth father, Buddy heads to New York City hoping to find his dad.
However, Buddy's father turns out to be a cranky workaholic who wants nothing to do with Buddy or his Christmas-loving antics. Buddy in the meantime develops a bond with his step-mother, half brother and a beautiful Macy's co-worker and helps restore the lost holiday spirit of his jaded New York family
Stephen King makes his debut as a playwright, delivering everything one could ask for. Indeed, Ghost Brothers of Darkland County impresses as a paranormal morality tale on the surface, but at its core it spins a story in the vein of Cain and Abel - or, for one dysfunctional family living in the backwoods of Mississippi, as recent as a mysterious tragedy from 40 years ago.
The superb blues 'n' roots music of the play reflects the wide range of styles and influences suited to a work that spans the decades. Mellencamp's unusual score uses its melodies to reveal the emotions and inner workings of the characters.
For this 2014 tour, Ghost Brothers of Darkland County has been re-conceived as a theatrical concert, with much of the costumes and lighting staging of the original musical being stripped away to draw more focus to Mellencamp's songs.
Set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, this oddball romantic comedy - considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy - soars with the spirit of Broadway as it introduces us to a cast of vivid characters who have become legends in the canon: Sarah Brown, the upright but uptight "mission doll," out to reform the evildoers of Time Square; Sky Masterson, the slick, high-rolling gambler who woos her on a bet and ends up falling in love; Adelaide, the chronically ill nightclub performer whose condition is brought on by the fact she's been engaged to the same man for 14 years; and Nathan Detroit, her devoted fiance, desparate as always to find a spot for his infamous floating crap game.
Guys and Dolls has an unforgettable score by Frank Loesser that includes such classics as "Adelaide's Lament", "Luck Be a Lady Tonight", and "Sit Down, You're Rockin' The Boat."
