Walnut's Independence Studio on 3 will open its 2011-2012 season with Sheridan Morley's Noël & Gertie, November 22-December 31.

The play concerns playwright/actor/composer Noël Coward and celebrated actress Gertrude Lawrence, who together formed a memorable friendship and defined an era in show biz. In Noël & Gertie, their mischief, wit, backstage stories, and popular songs, including "Someday I'll Find You," "Mrs. Worthington," and "Mad Dogs and Englishmen," take center stage.

Director Will Stutts will also play Noël Coward. Susan Wilder will play Gertrude Lawrence.

The creative team will include scenic designer Andrew Thompson, costume designer Mark Mariani, lighting designer Chris Hallenbeck, and sound designer Cory Neale.
