Sting Set for Academy of Music’s Anniversary Concert

Rock icon and Broadway veteran Sting will perform with the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Academy of Music’s 153rd anniversary concert, to be held January 30, 2010 at 7:30 p.m.

The singer/composer will perform some of his best-known works with the Orchestra, which will be conducted by Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos. The program will also include classical favorites.

Sting played Macheath in the 1989 Broadway revival of Threepenny Opera. He is well known for his work with the rock band The Police, as well as his career as a solo music artist.
