Anna Deavere Smith, Ruined, Spelling Bee Set for Philadelphia Theatre Company’s 2010-2011 Season

Philadelphia Theatre Company has announced a partial list of events for its 35th Anniversary season.

During the summer of 2010, PTC will host The Second City 50th Anniversary Tour (July 13-25). In the fall, the company will present William Finn and Rachel Sheinkin’s musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (November 12-December 12), directed by Marc Bruni.

Anna Deavere Smith’s solo show Let Me Down Easy will perform March 18-April 10, directed by Leonard Foglia. Lynn Nottage’s Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Ruined (May 20-June 12) will end the season, directed by Maria Mileaf.

In addition, a play to be announced will be presented January 21-February 13. PTC will also hold new play readings and public conversations with contemporary writers in October.
