Cast and Creative Team Set for Don Quixote at Board Street Ministry

Cast and creative team information has been announced for the Broad Street Ministry production of Don Quixote, a collaboration with New York based Stillpoint Productions. Lear deBessonet will direct the production, which will run May 21-June 7, with an official opening of May 26.

DeBessonet’s reinterpretation of Cervantes’ Don Quixote will make use of an ensemble of four professional actors and 30 non-professional Broad Street Ministry community members to create an anachronistic world where 16th Century Spain meets Center City Philadelphia. The cast will feature Kate Benson, David Brooks, Gian Murray Gianino, and James Scruggs.

The production will incorporate puppets by Emily Decola and original music by gypsy-punk band The Psalters. The creative team will also include Tracy Bersley (choreography), Peter Ksander (scenic design), Emily Rebholz (costume design), and Justin Townsend (lighting design).
