On Friday, May 21, former Saved by the Bell star Dustin Diamond joined the cast of the Off-Broadway show The Awesome 80s Prom, which is now in its sixth year at Webster Hall. 

Diamond will join the company for six weeks, playing himself -- a special role written by creator and director Ken Davenport.

The show puts the audience in the middle of Wanaget High's Senior Prom in 1989 with favorite 80s movie characters as they compete for Prom King and Queen.

Diamond is best known for playing Samuel "Screech" Powers in the television show Saved by the Bell and the spin-off series, Saved by the Bell: The College Years. Diamond's television credits also include The Weakest Link, Celebrity Boxing 2, and Professional Wrestling.
