On Thursday, January 6, Playwrights Horizons celebrated the opening of its production of Adam Bock’s
A Small Fire.
Opening night guests included Annie Baker, Marylouise Burke, Michael Chernus, Johanna Day, America Ferrera, David Greenspan, Adam Rapp, Lois Smith, and Katherine Waterston.
The play focuses on what happens when a tough-as-nails contractor finds her senses slipping on the brink of her daughter’s wedding. The cast features Reed Birney, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Michele Pawk, and Victor Williams.
The production is directed by Trip Cullman and features scenic design by Loy Arcenas, costume design by Ilona Somogyi, lighting design by David Weiner, and sound design by Robert Kaplowitz.
