Philadelphia Kids Spotlight: September '06
OneDream comes to the Philadelphia LiveArts Festival and Philly Fringe on September 9 and 10, but it's not only for kids. It's suitable for all ages. This unique piece combines the tunes of the band One -- whose musicians play the sitar, guitar, table, trombone, piano and percussion -- with the ArcheDream dancers, who wear blacklight masks and unique costumes.
D.C. Metro Kids Spotlight: September '06
Synetic Theatre and its partner, Classika Theatre in Arlington, Virginia, is bringing back this past summer's Synetic-created show Galactika (September 30-October 29). It was inspired by a NASA astrophysicist. The engaging show takes kids five and older through the birth of the universe and its stars.

You know that summer's truly over when the Seattle Children's Theatre opens a show called Harriet's Halloween Candy (September 22-November 12). Stage Door Entertainment brings everybody's favorite grade-schooler to life in Ramona Quimby (September 2-16), the stage adaptation of author Beverly Cleary's popular Ramona series. Logan Linehan plays Ramona, Alexis Fitting is her older sister Beezus, and Brian Scott and Lisa Linehan are Mr. and Mrs. Quimby.
Chicago Kids Spotlight: September '06
Families with young kids seeking appropriate theater fare might wish to check out the Pauly the Clown Show, presented by the Department of Cultural Affairs at the Chicago Cultural Center Studio Theater (September 8-17) with two Saturday matinees and two on Sundays. Also, the Rascal Children's Theater (the junior branch of the Rogue Theater Company) in its new Andersonville neighborhood home, offers Cinderella Goes Disco (through September 23) incorporating three fairy tales, disco music, and audience-interactive dancing.
