Medicine Show Theatre Ensemble Announces Casting for John Gruen’s Dancing Fools

Medicine Show Theatre Ensemble has announced casting for John Gruen’s Dancing Fools, a trio of short comedies, to run January 7-30. Oliver Conant, Stellios Manolakakis, and Barbara Vann will direct and appear in the plays.

Gruen’s scripts all focus on the quest for happiness despite obstacles, disappointments and complications. Six ‘Everything’ Bagels centers on an older gay man who despairs over his young lover’s infidelities, while the young lover yearns to find himself and a career. In Olivia Wants to Dance, a woman wants to end her ten-year marriage to a much older man and resume her career as a dancer. The third play, The Almighty, centers on three men discussing theology and wondering what a higher power could do for them.

The company will also feature Vincent D’Alessio, Mark J. Dempsey, Alfred Gingold, Jason Alan Griffin, Madeline Jaye, Cassandra Weston, and John Zurek.
