Emmy Award winner Bruce Vilanch will host the 9th Annual Nightlife Awards to be held at Town Hall at 7pm on Monday, January 31. The event is created and produced by TheaterMania contributor Scott Siegel.

The Nightlife Awards honor the best of New York’s cabaret, comedy, and jazz by having the award winners perform rather than deliver acceptance speeches. The awards are decided upon by more than two-dozen critics and experts on four different panels. Winners will be announced shortly.

Vilanch will play Feinstein’s at the Loews Regency next month. He played Edna Turnblad in the Broadway production of Hairspray and appeared Off-Broadway in Spalding Gray: Stories Left to Tell and his solo show, Bruce Vilanch: Almost Famous. In addition, he has contributed material to numerous Academy Awards broadcasts and has worked extensively with such performers as Bette Midler, Lily Tomlin, and Joan Rivers.
