Greta Scacchi will step into the role of Desiree Armfeldt in the Theatre du Chatelet’s production of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler’s A Little Night Music, to run February 15-20. She replaces previously announced star Kristin Scott Thomas, who reportedly had to withdraw due to a foot injury.

The production, which is also set to star Lambert Wilson as Fredrik Egerman and Leslie Caron as Madame Armfeldt, will be directed by Lee Blakeley. It also features the Philharmonic Orchestra of Radio France.

Scacchi’s stage credits include The Deep Blue Sea, The Guardsman, True Life Fiction of Mata Hari, Uncle Vanya, In Times Like These, and Airbase. She is well known for her roles in films such as Presumed Innocent, White Mischief, Heat and Dust, Shattered, Jefferson in Paris, and Emma, and won an Emmy Award for the television film Rasputin: Dark Servant of Destiny.
