Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family: The Play to Be Released on DVD and Blu-Ray November 23

Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on November 23, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times. The release features the stage production which toured the country earlier this year and starred Perry.

The show focuses on Miss Shirley, an aging single mother who has just received a diagnosis of terminal cancer. With the help of Madea (Perry), she assembles her grown children (and their significant others) for one final reunion. As previously announced, Perry is at work on a big screen version of his script.

Perry’s latest movie is For Colored Girls, an adaptation of Ntozake Shange’s play. In addition, he has adapted a number of his stage plays for the screen, including Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Madea Goes to Jail, Meet the Browns, and I Can Do Bad All By Myself.
