Animator and author Darrell Van Citters, Judy Levitow, and actress Marie Matthews will participate in a panel discussion held in conjunction with a screening of Mister Magoo's Christmas Carol on December 1 at The Paley Center for Media. Jack Doulin will moderate the panel.

The animated special, which premiered on NBC on December 18, 1962 and was directed by Abe Levitow, features a score by Jule Styne and Bob Merrill and the vocal talents of Matthews, along with Jim Backus, Jack Cassidy, Jane Kean, and Morey Amsterdam. The Paley Center will be premiering a recently acquired HD copy of the film.

The event is being held in conjunction with the publication of Van Citters' book Mister Magoo's Christmas Carol: The Making of the First Animated Christmas Special. In addition to the panel, the event will feature a screening of a recently discovered reel of Styne and Merrill performing "Ringle, Ringle," one of the songs from the film, and Matthews, the voice of Young Scrooge and the singing voice of the Cratchit daughter, will perform the song that she introduced in it, "Alone in the World."

Attendees will receive a complimentary copy of the DVD of Mister Magoo's Christmas Carol and will have the chance to have copies of Van Citters' book autographed by the panel participants.
