Tony Award winner Victoria Clark will curate and host New York City Center’s Musical Theater: From the Page to the Stage, a series of interactive discussions and performances by guest artists offer audiences a glimpse beyond the proscenium into the creative worlds of theater and dance. All events take place on Mondays at 6:30pm.

The three-part series will kick off on October 18 with From Concept to Choreography, featuring guest artist Christopher Gattelli, who is currently choreographing the Broadway production of Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. The evening will explore how a concept is transformed into movement, with live demonstrations by performers.

The series will continue with Master Class: Permission to Play (February 28, 2011), in which Clark will lead three students through a rigorous master class designed to help them unlock the connection between text and music in songs from the musical theater canon. The final event will be All About Collaboration (May 16, 2011), in which theater professionals will chart the evolution of a show from concept to the finished product.

Tickets to each program are $20. To purchase of for more information, visit www.NYCityCenter.org.
