Emmy Award winner Neil Patrick Harris will direct with the romantic comedy Aaron and Sarah, starring Emma Roberts and Josh Hutcherson, according to The Hollywood Reporter

Written by Chad Gomez Creasey and Dara Resnik Creasey, the film follows a geeky guy and a popular girl who become friends as freshmen in high school and see their relationship deepen through over the next four years.
Harris’ stage credits include Assassins, Rent, Sweeney Todd and All My Sons, and he directed the Hollywood Bowl concert staging of Rent earlier this year. He won 2010 Emmy Awards for hosting the 2009 Tony Awards, and for his guest starring role on Glee. He was also nominated for his work on CBS’ How I Met Your Mother.
