Laura Alonso, Angelica de la Riva, Rosa Torres-Pardo et al. Set for The Lonely Hours at Alice Tully Hall

The New York Opera Society has announced casting and creative team for Ricardo Llorca’s opera The Empty Hours (Las Horas Vacias), which will receive its world stage premiere in a one-night-only performance on November 19 at Alice Tully Hall.

The piece focuses on a lonely woman whose obsession with the internet fuels an extraordinary fantasy world. The Lonely Hours will feature soprano Laura Alonso, Brazilian actress Angelica de la Riva, pianist Rosa Torres-Pardo, the Manhattan Choral Ensemble and the New York Opera Society Orchestra. Emmanuel Plasson will conduct the performance, which will feature virtual stage designs by director Joachim Schamberger.
