Former American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi will be the head panelist on a new songwriting reality series with the working title Going Platinum on Bravo. Singer-songwriter Jewel will host the show, which is scheduled to debut in 2011.
On the show, 12 musicians will work through a series of songwriting challenges testing their creativity, patience and drive. From dance track to love ballad, every episode will feature a different theme that will require the contestants to write and perform lyrics from multiple genres. The contestants will be vying for a $100,000 prize. Additional judges will be announced shortly.
DioGuardi has written hit songs for such artists as Carrie Underwood and Pink.
