Stage and screen star John C. Reilly will now star alongside Oscar winners Jodie Foster, Christoph Waltz, and Kate Winslet in Roman Polanski’s adaptation of Yasmina Reza’s Tony Award-winning play God of Carnage, according to a report on Deadline.com. The website had previously reported that Matt Dillon would play the role of Michael.

The play, which has been produced in London and on Broadway, focuses on two sets of parents who meet after their sons are involved in a schoolyard fight.

Reilly’s stage credits include the Broadway productions of A Streetcar Named Desire and True West, as well as the musical Marty. His many film credits include the role of Amos Hart in the film version of Chicago, for which he received an Academy Award nomination.

Foster has won two Academy Awards for her performances in Silence of the Lambs and The Accused. In addition, she was nominated for Taxi Driver and Nell. Waltz received an Oscar earlier this year for Inglourious Basterds. Winslet won an Academy Award for her performance in The Reader and has five other Oscar nominations, for such films as Iris and Titanic.

Polanski’s many films include The Pianist, for which he won the Academy Award, Chinatown, Rosemary’s Baby, and Repulsion.
