George Clooney’s The Ides of March, an adaptation of Beau Willimon’s play Farragut North, will get a theatrical release on October 14, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In addition to Clooney, the movie stars Ryan Gosling, Paul Giamatti, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Marisa Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood, and follows a young press spokesman who falls prey to backroom politics, the treacherous manipulations of veteran operatives and the seduction of a young intern.
Farragut North premiered at the Atlantic Theater Company in 2008 and was subsequently seen at the Geffen Playhouse. Willimon’s latest play, Spirit Control, recently played New York City Center Stage I.
