First Things Last, a CD showcasing songwriter Lance Horne’s work, will be released by Yellow Sound label on January 11. Pre-orders for digital download of the album are being accepted online at www.kickstarter.com through November 4 only. Michael Croiter, working with Horne, has co-produced the recording.

The disc will feature both songs Horne has written for the stage and specialty material. The performers on the disc will include artists from both New York and London such as Alan Cumming, Amanda Palmer, Cheyenne Jackson, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Ricki Lake, Meow Meow, Lea DeLaria, Bryce Ryness, Alexandra Silber, Aneurin Barnard, Julie Atherton, Paul Spicer, Emma Williams, and Hannah Waddingham.

As previously reported, Horne will also be featured in a concert as part of Lincoln Center’s American Songbook season on January 14. At the event, to be directed by Daisy Prince, the songwriter will be joined by special guests Cumming, Jackson and seven other singers from the recording. It is anticipated that a similar concert will be offered in London subsequently.

Horne’s work includes Something’s Wrong With Amandine, Songs for Mister Sister, Pictures of Dorian Gray, and The Strip. In addition, he has contributed to the song cycle Songs From an Unmade Bed, the Gypsy of the Year competitions, and the Actors’ Fund benefit First You Dream.
