Wilson Jermaine Heredia, who won a Tony Award for his portrayal of Angel in Rent, will head the cast of the New York International Fringe Festival production of Tales From The Tunnel, written and directed by Troy Diana and James Valletti, and based on true subway stories. The cast will also include Eric Jackson, Vayu O'Donnell, Farah Bala, Geri Brown, Carla Corvo, Heidi Azaro, and Sam Rosenberg.

As previously announced, Wicked's Kristy Cates and Spamalot's Steven Stafford will appear in For the Love of Christ. Jenna Coker Jones and Dan Amboyer aree also featured in this musical that uses the onset of the AIDS crisis to satirize people's penchants for extremes, from religious mania to gay drama.

His Greatness, by Daniel MacIvor, examines two days in the last years of the life of playwright Tennessee Williams. This U.S. premiere will be directed by Tom Gualtieri and feature Peter Goldfarb, Dan Domingues, and Michael Busillo.

Mac Rogers (whose Universal Robots is nominated for two IT awards this year) returns to FringeNYC with Viral, about a woman who googles "painless suicide" and finds the people who will help her end her life -- if she will let them film it. The production fatures Rebecca Comtois, Kent Meister, Jonathan Pereira, Amy Lynn Stewart, and Matthew Trumbull.

Victoria and Frederick for President, a multimedia production that revisits a long-forgotten chapter of American history, will feature original music by five-time Grammy Award-winner Roy Wilfred Wooten (a.k.a. Future Man), and focuses on women's rights advocate Victoria Woodhull's run for president with abolitionist Frederick Douglass as her running mate.

Casting changes have also been announced for certain productions, including the revised version of the musical How Now, Dow Jones. Jefferson Award nominee Cristen Paige has replaced Sarah Litzsinger, who has withdrawn from the production due to a scheduling conflict.

Additionally, Jay Sefton will present The Most Mediocre Story Never Told; Geraldine Librandi, Quentin Mare and Margot White will star in The Crow Mill; and Patti Allison will head the cast of Graveyard Shift.

As previously reported, other productions in FringeNYC feature Nick Adams, Deidre Goodwin, Bailey Hanks, Colin Hanlon, Garrett Long, and Everett Quinton. Click here for that story.

Another must see is LOOK AFTER YOU, from MTWorks who brought ANAIS NIN GOES TO HELL to last years festival. Its an amazing play, well worth the trip to the SoHo Playhouse in August. It will be one to remember.

Girl Crazy
City Center Encores! production of the classic George and Ira Gershwin is pleasingly zany, but lacks a little heart.
