Bill Irwin, Donna Murphy, Norbert Leo Butz, et al. Set for Vera Farmiga’s Higher Ground Film

Tony Award winners Bill Irwin, Donna Murphy and Norbert Leo Butz will appear in the new movie Higher Ground, according to a report in Variety. Vera Farmiga is directing the picture which is currently filming in upstate New York.

Higher Ground is based on Carolyn Briggs’ memoir about her experiences with a radical Christian religious community. The ensemble for the film also includes Joshua Leonard, John Hawkes, Dagamara Dominczyk, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

Irwin won the Tony for his performance in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Murphy received Tonys for her performances in Passion and The King and I, and Butz was a Tony Award winner for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
