Marc Kudisch, Bobby Steggert, The Civilians, et al. to Perform in Sounds of Summer

Barrow Street Theatre will present Sounds of Summer, a musical storytelling celebration to run June 13-August 8.

Among the highlights is Joshua Schmidt: Songbook (June 27), directed by Michael Padden, and featuring guest artists Todd Almond, Cyrilla Baer, Elizabeth Baltes, Drew Gehling, Joel Hatch, Marc Kudisch, Austin Pendleton, Margo Seibert, Bobby Steggert, Amy Warren, and Lauren Worsham, as well as musical guests Tim Splain, Richard Carsey, Steve Gilweski, and Brad Carbone.

Cast members from Broadway’s Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark will appear in Tales from the Faucet & Other Stories: An Evening with Glen Berger (July 18). This evening of stories by Berger — who is the co-book writer for the Spider-Man musical — will feature original music by PigPen Theatre Company.

The Civilians will present an encore performance of the company’s hit, Gone Missing (August 8), directed & written by Steven Cosson, from interviews by the company, with music & lyrics by Michael Friedman.

The concert series will kick off with Up Close and Personal: An Evening with Kenny Vance and the Planotones, and also include Todd Almond’s Wyoming and Parts of Kansas (June 20).
