Pete Seeger, Ashford & Simpson to Perform and Be Honored at WhyHunger Celebration

Pete Seeger and Growing Home will receive the WhyHunger-Chapin Award, while Nickolas Ashford & Valerie Simpson will be honored with the ASCAP-Harry Chapin Humanitarian Award at WhyHunger’s 35th Anniversary celebration, to be held at Gotham Hall on Monday, June 21 at 6pm.

Three-time Grammy Award winner Tom Chapin will host the event, which will feature performances from Seeger, Ashford & Simpson, and Chapin, along with as Kim & Reggie Harris and Martha Redbone.

WhyHunger is an organization dedicated to fighting the root causes of hunger and poverty by supporting grassroots organizations that create self-reliance, economic justice and equal access to nutritious and affordable food.
