Prince to Be Honored at BET Awards; Denzel Washington, Usher, Don Cheadle, Jay-Z, et al. Among Nominees

Pop music legend Prince will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 10th Annual BET Awards which will be held in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 27 and hosted by Queen Latifah.

As previously reported, 2010 Tony Award winner Denzel Washington, currently starring in the Broadway production of Fences, was nominated as Best Actor, as was stage veteran Don Cheadle, Oscar winner Jamie Foxx, Quinton Aaron, and Idris Elba.

Former Broadway star Usher was nominated as Best Male R&B artist, and Fela! producer Jay-Z received numerous nominations.

Among the many other nominees are Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Justin Bieber, Alicia Keys, Kanye West, Taraji P. Henson, Mo’Nique, Gabourey Sibide, Zoe Saldana, Maxwell, Ludacris, Black Eyed Peas, Selena Gomez, and Sade.
