Paulo Szot to Star in A Dog’s Heart at La Scala

Tony Award winner Paulo Szot will star in Alexander Raskatov’s opera A Dog’s Heart, to play Milan’s La Scala, March 3-April 13. Simon McBurney will direct the production.


The La Scala season will also include Rossini’s La scala di sieta, numerous operas by Richard Wagner and Giuseppe Verdi, including Lohengrin, Siegfried, Nabucco, and Aida, as well as six ballets and other special events.


Among the numerous artists who will appear at the famed opera house during the season are singers Joyce DiDinato, Jonas Kaufman, Rene Pape, and Bryn Terfel.


Szot won the Tony Award for South Pacific, and also received an Olivier Award nomination for the London production. He has appeared at the Metropolitan Opera in Manon and The Nose, as well as with many of the world’s leading opera companies. He has also appeared three times at the Cafe Carlyle in New York.
