Theater veterans Laila Robins and Linus Roache have joined Max Theirrot and Oscar winner Martin Landau in the pilot of Roland Emmerich’s still untitled drama, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Thierrot will play Carter, and astrophysics grad student in New York who learns that he is the chosen one to destroy the forces of evil. Roache will play Senator Teras, an ambitious politican with his eye on the White House, and Robins will play his wife, Angelica.

Robins is currently on stage in The Lady from Dubuque, and her numerous credits include That Face, Dangerous Beauty, and A Streetcar Named Desire. Roache appeared in the Vineyard Theatre’s production of Middletown.

Emmerich, who will write, direct and executive produce the drama, recently directed the film Anonymous. His many other films include 2012, Stargate, The Day After Tomorrow, and Independence Day.
