Ute Lemper to Perform The Bukowski Project at Abrons Arts Center in April

Broadway and cabaret star Ute Lemper will perform her new show, The Bukowski Project, at Abrons Arts Center, April 14-23.

The piece is a theatrical poetic project in music. The show features 30 poems, from the books The Last Night of Earth Poems, What Matters Most Is How Well You Walk Through the Fire, and You Get So Alone at Times That It Just Makes Sense.

Lemper has composed music for the show, with additional compositions by Vana Gierig and Todd Turkisher . Musicians will include Vana Gierig (piano), Steve Millhouse (bass), and Todd Turkisher (drums).

Lemper made her Broadway debut in the revival of Chicago and has appeared frequently at Joe’s Pub and The Cafe Carlyle. Lemper has developed and composed music for the piece, which also features additional music and arrangements by Todd Turkisher and Varia Gieng.
