Michael Rupert, J. Robert Spencer, Rachel York, et al. Set for Me and Miss Monroe

Broadway star Rachel York will play movie legend Marilyn Monroe in the Amas Lab and Workshop Series’ free presentation of Me and Miss Monroe a new musical with book and lyrics by Charles Leipart and music by William Goldstein, to take place on Thursday, April 21 at 3pm, Friday, April 22 at noon and 4pm, and Saturday, April 23 at 1pm at Baruch Performing Arts Center.

Tony Award winner John Rando will direct the show, which will feature choreography by Christopher Gatelli, music direction by Eric Stern, and costume design by William Ivey Long.

The musical tells the story of Steven, a 16-year-old Bronx High School of Science student in 1962 who inadvertently meets and befriends Marilyn Monroe at the carousel in Central Park as he works on his project for a national science fair.

The show will co-star Jordan Firstman as Steven, and features Will Blum, Liz Byrne, Joy Hermalyn, Ilana Levine, Stephanie Martignetti, Manna Nichols, Weston Wells Olson, Kevin Pariseau, Hayley Podschun, Michael Rupert, J. Robert Spencer, Nathaniel Stampley, Will Taylor, and Remy Zaken.
