Sandra Bernhard, Justin Vivian Bond, Lance Horne, Jake Shears Musical Arts and Crafts to Play Joe’s Pub

Arts and Crafts: A New Musical, with a book by Sandra Bernhard and Justin Vivian Bond, and music by Bernhard, Bond, Lance Horne and Jake Shears (of Scisssor Sisters fame), will have two performances at Joe’s Pub on March 7 at 7pm and 9:30pm.

In the piece, Bernhard and Bond play country cousins whose lives have led them in very different directions: One went from being a rock chick to born again motherhood in the Midwest and the other from small town gay to urban art world sophisticate. Directed by Gordon Greenberg, the performances will also feature Cole Escola and Amber Martin.

Also newly announced for the venue’s schedule is Leslie Kritzer is Leslie Kritzer at Joe’s Pub. Co-written with Randy Blair, the new show will play at Joe’s Pub, April 17, 18 & 24 at 7:30pm. Meanwhile, Ray Bradbury’s Farenheit 451, adapted and directed by Wynn Handman, will perform February 23 at 7pm. Emmy-nominated actor Rich Orlow will star.

Among the other upcoming performances scheduled are, as previously reported, a week-long residency by Punk legend & Black Flag frontman Henry Rollins as he celebrates his 50th birthday with a week-long residency (February 8-12); Broadway star Jackie Hoffman’s continued run of her acclaimed show Jackie Five-Oh on February 14 and 21 (along with dates in March and April); an appearance by comedian and storyteller Mike Birbiglia (February 8); Broadway veteran Natalie Joy Johnson in an evening written and directed by John Hill (February 13); Tony nominee Justin Bond (February 13 & 20); the Murray Hill Oscar Party (February 27); and Tony winner Levi Kreis and Eric Himan (February 28).
