Alec Baldwin, Ty Burrell, Anne Hathaway, Jane Krakowski, Jane Lynch, et al. Receive Comedy Award Nominations

The nominees for the inaugural Comedy Awards have been announced. The prizes will be presented in a ceremony to be held on March 25 at the Hammerstein Ballroom, which will subsequently be broadcast on April 10 on Comedy Central, Spike TV, TV Land, VH1 and Nick At Nite simultaneously.

Among the nominees are stage veterans Alec Baldwin and Ty Burrell, nominated in the Comedy Actor – TV category, for their work on 30 Rock, and Modern Family, respectively. Also nominated in the category are Steve Carrell for The Office, Tracy Morgan for 30 Rock, and Danny McBride for Eastbound & Down.

In the Comedy Actress – TV category, the nominees are Tina Fey and Jane Krakowski for 30 Rock, as well as Jane Lynch for Glee, Betty White for Hot in Cleveland, and Kristen Wiig for Saturday Night Live.

In film categories, the nominated actors are Russell Brand (Get Him to the Greek), Will Ferrell (The Other Guys), Zach Galifianakis (Dinner for Schmucks), Paul Giamatti (Barney’s Version) and Jonah Hill (Cyrus). Fey has also received a nomination in the Comedy Actress – Film category for her work in Date Night. The other nominees for this award are Anne Hathaway for Love and Other Drugs, Helen Mirren for Red, Chlo Moretz for Kick-Ass, and Emma Stone for Easy A.
