The Sonnet Man to Be Performed in Jackson Heights in February

Jackson Repertory Theatre will offer a one-night-only performance of The Sonnet Man at P.S. 69 in Jackson Heights, Queens on February 12 at 8pm.

Conceived by Arje Shaw and featuring music by Daniel Lynas, the piece sets Shakespeare’s sonnets to song with a contemporary, hip hop twist. The piece will feature Devon Glover, Melissa Guttman, and Meghan Early, along with Allan Mednard on drums, Alex Violette on bass, Jeremy Sherron on keyboard, Robin Hood on guitar.

In related news, Glover will also be offering two workshops for students ages 13-16 on February 13, allowing them to try their own hand at writing and performing original sonnets.
